FIRST STEP
Passage du Gois> Mont Alouettes: 191 km
A Grand Departure between sea and sky ... It was on the Gois that will be given the official start of the 98th edition of the Tour de France. Connecting the mainland to the island of Noirmoutier, a length of 4.5 km, Gois is a submersible road flooded twice a day at high tide and passable at low tide.
Previously, the rally will be held starting at Fromentine followed by a parade on the island of Noirmoutier. Then, after joining the mainland, the peloton will sail the first Vendée on roads rather flat in the south before heading north-east and more hilly terrain Herbaria. The finish will be at Mont des Alouettes, which rises to 232 meters. The Mont des Alouettes was an important strategic site during the Wars of the Vendée (1793-1796).

SECOND STAGE
The Essarts> The Essarts - Time Team Time Trial: 23 km
The second day will see the return of Vendée the test against the team time trial that is not on the agenda of the Tour de France 2010. It will be run on a circuit of 23 km, starting and finishing in Essarts.
The course will loop traced west of the city, mostly on flat roads and straight from the Vendée, including joint and cross from Boulogne and La Merlatière.
